Notable Records: Vicious Veg-Heads joined The Red Zone in 2013 when the league expanded to ten teams. In their first year in the league, they posted a winning record by going 7-6. Unfortunately, this is the only time in the history of The Red Zone that a team with a winning record did not make the playoffs. A total of five teams went 7-6 (with two others having superior records), so one 7-6 team did not make it based on tie-breakers. That team was Vicious Veg-Heads. The Veg-Heads and the Troll Hunters are the only teams to make the playoffs just a single time. Vicious Veg-Heads is one of only two teams to have a ten-loss season. The Veg-Heads' occurred in 2014, when the team went 3-10. The other team, The Mullynation, went 3-10 in 2012. The Veg-Heads have the second worst overall winning percentage in the history of the Red Zone. The franchise is 27-37, leading to a winning percentage of just 42%. This is puzzling when you consider their relationship with the Tree Cats. The Twin City Tree Cats and the Vicious Veg-Heads both joined the Red Zone at the same time: the 2013 season. In that time, the Tree Cats have averaged 102.2 points-scored-per-game, while the Vicious Veg-Heads have averaged 103.6 points-scored-per-game. Despite this, the Tree Cats have won 51% of their games, nearly 10% better than the Veg-Heads. |
