Notable Records: The 302 Cadets have the third-place claim on the highest-scoring single week in the history of The Red Zone, in what turned out to be a bizarre game. In Week 2 of 2011 they scored a mammoth 178 points. This defeated the 90 Degree Putters, who actually scored 149 points themselves. Together, the teams scored a combined 327 points, a record considered unbreakable. That was the first of only five times in history a team has scored 140+ and lost, with the Cadets themselves also being featured on that unfortunate list. The second instance happened two weeks later when the Troll Hunters beat the Indian Outlaws 160-146. The third, fourth, and fifth all happened in the 2015 season. The 90 Degree Putters beat the Indian Outlaws 155.9-140, the Big City Hillbillies beat The Mullynation 166.7-149.5, and the Big City Hillbillies beat the 302 Cadets 176.1-157.7. If you're doing the math, you've realized that the 176.1-157.7 bombshell featured a combined 333.8 points, making it the highest overall scoring game in history. Thus, the Cadets have played in both the #1 and #2 highest scoring games, winning one and losing one. The 157.7 points scored in a losing effort is also a dubious record. The 302 Cadets are one of the most consistent teams in The Red Zone. In the first five years of the league, they finished either 6th or 7th every single year. This was reflected in their per-game and per-player stats, with all of them being almost exactly average. Of course, in 2016, the Cadets made it over the hump and had their best season yet, with a fourth-place finish. |
