The 2012 season brought a change, with Bryan Perkins leaving The Red Zone. The Northside Angels franchise was given to Steve Kanne. The league ditched the two-week playoff matchups, so the season was lengthened to 13 games. The race in 2012 was a bit more lopsided than in 2011, with two teams (Indian Outlaws and Big City Hillbillies) going 9-4, and one team (The Mullynation) going 3-10.
Indian Outlaws was the #1 seed, River Gypsies #2, Big City Hillbillies #3, and Northside Angels #4. Both first round matchups were drubbings, and both higher seeds won. In the championship, Indian Outlaws scored just 93 points, opening the door for River Gypsies to defend their title, but River Gypsies dropped the ball and only scored 73. Indian Outlaws took their first championship.
