2011 was the inaugural season of The Red Zone (then called Just Win, Maybe), though many of its members had previously competed in fantasy leagues together. Andrew Wheeler acted as League Commissioner and started the league, inviting Allyssa Wheeler (then Mulliken), Gentry Bain, Hayden Hanson, Chris Hanson, Derek Leventry, Evan Johnson, and Bryan Perkins. These were the original eight members.
The season was close, with just four games separating the top seed from the worst seed. 90 Degree Putters ended as the #1 seed at 7-3-1, Big City Hillbillies at #2, River Gypsies at #3, and Indian Outlaws at #4. There were two-week playoff matches then, so the season was only eleven weeks long. In the first round, Indian Outlaws and Big City Hillbillies were eliminated by the 90 Degree Putters, and River Gypsies, respectively. The championship round was incredibly close, with River Gypsies eeking out a four-point win over a two-week contest, defeating 90 Degree Putters. River Gypsies won the inaugural championship.
